Sacred Meditation – Blending Meditation and Healing

What is Sacred Meditation? How can meditation and healing be blended?

Meditation is about paying close attention to what we are experiencing as we are experiencing it. In most traditions, the breath is a focusing tool. Breath cleanses and clears, making it easier to see what’s going on inside. In my Sacred Meditation sessions I guide a meditation (or mindfulness exercise) while radiant, healing, transformational energy is flowing though me to each paying participant. The healing energy, like the breath, cleanses and clears, only at an accelerated rate. It is an intense energy flow that frees suppressed emotions and releases the associated feelings. These suppressions can create stagnation and diminish vitality in the body. They can also create limiting belief systems and patterns. By combining these two healing modalities, participants experience the benefits of two ancient, sacred healing traditions at the same time.

For more information on meditation and energy medicine, I am providing these two excerpts and links:

From Yoga International: Meditation is a precise technique for resting the mind and attaining a state of consciousness that is totally different from the normal waking state. Meditation is not a part of any religion; it is a science, which means that the process of meditation follows a particular order, has definite principles, and produces results that can be verified. Meditation requires an inner state that is still and one-pointed so that the mind becomes silent. When the mind is silent and no longer distracts you, meditation deepens. The goal of meditation is to go beyond the mind and experience our essential nature—which is described as peace, happiness, and bliss. For more info:

Excerpts from Don Bailey, MD’s article on Energy Medicine on All Things I believe the increasing interest in yoga, qigong, Reiki, EFT and countless other modalities is largely due to the failure of western medicine to really cure anything. I believe that all dis-ease is in fact due to imbalances in our energy flow and energetic “field.” If you can correct the imbalances or get the energy “flowing” properly, you can get well. What is fascinating is that because we are all connected energetically, regardless of space and time, we can do “distance healing.” I (and others who do this work) can look at your energetic field if you are in the next room or across the world (or up in the space-station)! We are in a new era. Even western medicine is starting to look at the mind-body connection, electro-magnetism, and other energy-based therapies. Before too long, we will look back on the use of pharmaceuticals and surgery the way we now look at blood-letting and leaches.–zWVlnq0

I want to disclose that I have been a contributing editor on All Things Healing. I selected this article because it comes from the perspective of a western trained doctor. I also like supporting this organization and their efforts to bring fresh perspectives and information to our community.

How can Sacred Meditation serve our community now? Sitting together in meditation each week illuminates our beautiful web of interconnectedness. I set the intention to open the gateways of the heart freeing participants to love more freely and spread joy and kindness. By focusing on heart healing, channels of intuition are encouraged to open. Enhanced intuition brings greater presence and insights. This gives participants the clarity and vision to address personal and broader challenges. The circle it creates links up hearts and blooms an inspired village.
